WB Upper Primary job seekers mark 365th day of protest, commences a march at Dharamtala

Today marks the 365th day of the West Bengal Upper Primary Job Seekers Forum's protest, and in commemoration, a protest march was organized. The march commenced from Dharmatala below the statue of  Matangini Hazra and extended to Dharamtala Channel Crossing. The forum, known as WB New PCM, has been enduring 365 days of deprivation and waiting for the recruitment process of Upper Primary with 14,339 vacancies.

Despite repeated promises from the Honorable Chief Minister to expedite the recruitment, the applicants express their frustration as the promises have not materialized in reality. The promises were made in press conferences on June 1, 2021, and May 30, 2023, along with a commitment made during a meeting in Singur on September 14, 2016. The protest march is a demonstration of their demand for immediate and transparent appointments, emphasizing the urgency in fulfilling the promises made by the Chief Minister.
